The British Tipped is genetically a silver variety of British Shorthair in which the colour is restricted to the ends of the guard hairs in the form of tipping (e.g. Black, Blue, Cream etc.) and the undercoat so pale as to appear white.
These ethereal cats are the British Shorthair counterpart of the Chinchilla Persian longhair.
Tipped are now being bred in the rare Golden colour.
At their best tippies are truly stunning cats.
